Frequently Asked Questions

this class?
What do I wear to class?
What can I expect with a Zoom Class?
Do I have to be live on Zoom in order to purchase the course?

The short answer is, everyone!! Polynesian dance is a space open to both those native to and lover's of Polynesia. It is important to understand that 'Ori Tahiti is a cultural dance and not just a fitness class. We touch on the basic cultural concepts of Tahitian dance, music, and language.

You will want to wear a lightweight athletic top paired with a rayon or cotton Pareu (sarong tied around the hips). Once signed up, I will provide links to online stores where you can purchase a pareu but you can always go to your nearest fabric store as well.

Being that the classes are live, the video will be in a lower quality. We may also encounter wi-fi and connections issues but I make a point to always make- up for whatever may happen. Please make sure the connection on your end is also strong in order to receive the best live class. For the students live with their camera on, please note you will be seen in the class recordings. If you do not want to be recorded, you may turn your camera off.

No! The best part of online classes is that you can take class at your own convenience. You may catch up with live classes via the recording, This works perfect for those with conflicting schedules or time zones. Class recordings are posted with 24hr of the live class.

Do I need to have my camera on if I join class live on Zoom?

No, you do not. If you join us live, your camera is not required to be on BUT it is such a huge help to me, as your teacher, if you do. I am able to give advice to the students live and help make corrections. If you only take class via the recordings or with your camera off and desire feedback, you can always reach out to me via email or Facebook Messenger and I can help you out!
